Hope you like the following.. Just to give you a brief bit of history, unfortunately as i live in England I have only seen the utube clips from 4x16, but here's what I'm hoping happens in 4x17 between Danny and Lindsay... ;)

***Possible spoilers for 4x16***

Interior, Danny's apartment. Its dark outside and only the light from the kitchen illuminates the apartment.
There is a knock at the door, Danny hesitates then walks toward the door and opens it.
"Hey" Danny pushes his glasses up onto his nose and smiles. "Hi" Lindsay replies. Danny steps aside and motions Lindsay into the room. She pauses, takes a deep breath and then follows Danny into the kitchen, past 'the' pool table.
CUT TO FLASHBACK OF DANNY AND LINDSAY ON THE POOL TABLE, DANNY SAYING "I'M GLAD THIS HAPPENED" FROM 3X24.
Danny looks towards Lindsay and sees where she is looking, Lindsay looks from the pool table to Danny and they lock eyes, both look embarrassed, clearly aware of what the other was thinking.
"Do you want some coffee" Danny asks, moving toward the coffee pot.
"No, thanks, look Danny, you said you wanted to talk so...."
Danny pushes his glasses up again and clears his throat (its clear he is trying to build up the courage to tell her about Rikki) "Yeah yeah yeah, I'm sorry Montana" Danny moves toward Lindsay, trying to catch her eye.
Lindsay looks away, deliberately avoiding his gaze "OK Danny, I get it, okay. The look on your face yesterday, I understand, you don't feel the same, it was just, well, a bit of fun..."
Lindsay is interrupted by Danny, who is now stood directly in front of her. Its clear from his body language he wants to be close to her, he hesitates, then takes her left hand in both of his. Lindsay looks down at his hands holding hers then looks up into Danny's eyes.
"Danny, I'm going to take a few weeks off, and maybe we should talk to Mac about doing separate shifts, I don't think its a good idea if we work together for a while.
Danny looks hurt and taken aback. "No, Lindsay, listen"
Lindsay stands up, takes her hand out of Danny's and begins to walk toward the door. "Danny, I'm leaving,a lot has happened recently and a holiday seems like a good idea right now. I think, I hope you talk to some-one or, or do whatever you need to do, you cant keep blaming yourself for Ruben, and you cant keep trying to be the strong one"
Danny follows Lindsay to the door, he looks confused "What, what are you talking about"
Lindsay smiles gently "You always have to be the hero, the strong one, its like you cant stand to be the person that needs someone. I was, I was attractive I needed someone and now that I don't need someone, now that I'm okay, your not interested, goodbye Danny Messer" Lindsay turns and walks out the door, leaving a confused looking Danny stood in the doorway.

PART TWO..... (Cont'd)...

Danny grabs his keys from the table and rushes after Lindsay, who is now half way down the stairs
"Montana" raising his voice "Lindsay, Lindsay wait, please"
Lindsay stops on the stairs, looking up at Danny, who comes to a stop a few steps behind her
"Listen, I, please come back upstairs, I'm not done talking"
"What more is there to say Danny" She smiles, "Its ironic right, Ive spent the last few weeks hoping you would talk to me, but you didn't, and now I understand what I was to you, now you want to talk"
"Listen, Linds, there's some things I should say, please come back upstairs" Danny pleads. Lindsay shrugs, then silently begins walking back up the stairs, Danny in tow.
Lindsay arrives at Danny's door and waits for him to open it. Danny fumbles with his keys, its obvious he is nervous and building up the courage to tell Lindsay everything.
"First of all, I'm sorry, really sorry. I never meant to hurt you, and didn't realise your feelings were so, um"
Lindsay, embarrassed by where the conversation is heading clears her throat "Danny, if all you want to do is say sorry..."
"No, no, there's um, something else" Danny pushes his glasses back onto his nose again and shifts his weight from side to side. "I, I never knew how you felt, I mean, I know you liked me, but well, I guess I didn't know how much you liked me" Danny clears his throat again "Monta... Lindsay, the other day, when you wanted to meet me for lunch, I was, was with Rikki" As he finishes the sentence he looks down, ashamed and unable to look at Lindsay, who looks confused.
"Danny, I don't, why didn't you just say you were with her?"
"No I was 'with' Rikki" As he finishes the sentence he looks up to Lindsay who takes a step backwards, tears forming in her eyes.
"What you and Rikki, you, you slept with her?"
"Linds, it only happened the once, it just, well, I saw on the way home, we got talking, drinking, and things well, it just sort of happened. We were both lonely and well, I, we needed each other"
At this tears begin to fall from Lindsay's eyes, the final words of the sentence clearly hurting her.
"I was there for you, I tried to be, but shut me out"
Danny looks at Lindsay, then away, he shrugs and walks toward the kitchen.


Danny hesitates, then steps back toward Lindsay. "Lindsay, I tried, I wanted to talk to you but, well, its" Danny runs his hands through his hair, struggling for the rights words. He takes another step toward her, looks down then back up at her as tears roll down his face. "It was my fault, all of it, its my fault. I should have just stayed with him, if I had of stayed, Ruben would still be alive. I didn't know how, I, I mean, I know its no excuse and now Ive hurt you too, but I, I just didn't know how to talk to you, or what to say and..." Danny takes a step back, trying to compose himself. Lindsay takes a step forward toward Danny, keeping the distance between them minimal. She softly takes hold of Danny's hand
"And what Danny"
He looks away from her and quietly mumbles "I was scared that everyone, you, that you would say I was right. That it was my fault, that Ruben died and that I could have prevented it, that it was my fault for trying to be a hero" As he says the final words of the sentence Danny breaks down completely, takes a step backwards and sits on the floor of his apartment.
Lindsay follows Danny's lead and sits down beside him, tears rolling down her face too. Danny turns to Lindsay and in a hushed voice again apologises.
"Linds, I know saying sorry wont make up for it, and there are no excuses for what I did, I just wanted it to stop, I felt so lonely and Rikki, she was just, well, she was there."
"I wish you had of let me be there too Danny, no one thinks what happened is your fault, least of all me, but what you did, what we are, I think we could both use some time and some space"
Danny puts his head towards Lindsay's, so their foreheads are touching. "I know Ive stuffed up Linds, so, whatever you want me to do, change shifts, whatever, just let me know"
"Right now Danny, what I really want you to do is talk to someone about this whole Ruben thing, and maybe once you've done that we'll talk about what we are going to do.

With that Lindsay stands up "Ive gotta go Danny, my shift starts in an hour. I'm going to talk to Mac and take a few days off, we'll talk when I get back" Lindsay turns around and walks away from Danny, wiping the tears from her face as she leaves the apartment.
Danny remains sat on the floor, watching as Lindsay leaves his apartment.
