okay so here it goes:
Lindsay and flack were in hot pursuit of a suspect. Lindsay was faster than flack so she was a leg or two farther than him and closer to the suspect. at one point flack trips and Lindsay keeps going cuz he told her too. when he got up he heard shots fired. as he turned the corner of the alley it was dark but he could see a body on the floor.
"Lindsay!" screamed flack into the darkness.
he pointed his flashlight at her and saw the life leave her eyes. she had been shot into an artery. the suspect fled the scene when Lindsay fell to the ground.
he called for help," i need rescue sent to my location on the alley behind Joe's pizzeria on flagler road!"
"officer down repeat officer down!" he yelled into the darkness. meanwhile Danny was responding to a 419 on the other side of town;so he didn't know what was happening.
flack tried to slow the bleeding but with every beat of her heart Lindsay was slowly killing herself. he took the end of some material he found and pushed inwards on her wound causing her to groan in pain but the bleeding was slowing down a bit.
the medics arrived in the knick of time. mac got to the scene and even Sinclair was there for support. Stella jumped into the ambulance and made sure someone was there when Lindsay came out of surgery. everyone feared the worst. Sinclair somehow got everyone to process the scene. Flack was so pissed at the fact he had tripped during the chase and left Lindsay to catch their suspect. he felt solely responsible. Mac could sense Flack's guilt-o-meter going way up this time.
"Flack common let's go catch the guy who did this to her," said mac bringing flack back to reality.
They made their way around the corner where Flack last saw the fugitive to see if he left a path or some type of evidence. Mac noticed a trail of footprints headed towards a usual spot for stoners to hide out. so they walk in and the guy was as high as a kite.
Once they brought him back to the lab Mr. McQueen, their suspect, was sent to detox. After waiting for him to become a bit more sane he was thrown into the chair'n an interrogation room. FLack began, "WHy'd you shoot her?"
McQueen just looked at him and replied, "She was a cop."
"You mean she is a cop but really she's not a cop but a criminalist, you dumb a**,"retorted Flack almost ready to kick the guy's a**.
"Makes no difference to me, she's already dead,"snarled McQueen while practicly piercing FLack's soul when he looked at him.
Danny had come back from his scene in a great mood because he had a ton of evidence and already had a fleeing suspect, to him the man was comlpetely guilty if he's runnin'. He walked by the area where FLack was and noticed him speaking about a cop who went down. It never even occured to him the Montana was the one he spoke of. So he continued on his way towards the DNA lab and found Adam jirrating to some old 70s music. Danny thought to himslef, "This is a little creepy."
He tapped Adam on the shoulder to see when he could run his trace and DNA evidence to make sure his fugitive was the murderer.
Meanwhile back at the hospital Lindsay had just begun her extensive surgery and Stella was there until Flack or Mac or even Hawkes could take watch for a little while. It had been a long three days and her eyelids were slowly becoming so heavy that within a few minutes she'd fallen asleep. Mac showed up with Flack, both of them were interested in hearing if Lindsay had been taken out of surgery. When Mac and Flack sat down on a side of the sound asleep Stella Bonasera, Sinclair showed up and said, "So the integrity of the lab is preserved in this case I'm removing your team from the case and you have to turn over all your evidence to the other shift."
Lindsay had been rolled past them while Sinclair spoke. So by the time he realized where they headed he'd lost them completely. Nobody even bothered to go back and tell Sinclair they were keeping the case.
When they all reached Lindsay's doorway they were stopped in their tracks by the doctor. He waved his finger side to side and then opened his mouth, "Only one at a time, she needs her rest."
Flack and Hawkes understood so they took a step back and let Mac and Stella decide who got to visit her first.
"Stella you go ahead and go home; you need your rest," stated Mac in his calm authoritative voice.
Stella nodded and turned to the doorway near the exit sign and from there she left.
Adam finally had Danny's trace and DNA results ready when he burst through the double doors to Adam's lab.
Adam joked, "So I'm guessing you spoke to your suspect."
Danny nodded his face as red as a cherry. After he took a deep breathe and sighed. Adam thought it would be a good time to give Danny those results he'd been waiting for. DAnny snatched the results so quickly Adam didn't even see it coming. He looked it all over quickly and gave Adam a big hug.
"Boom we got him Adam we got him," said Danny with a gigantic smile on his face seeming very blithe. But little did he know a big wake up call was on its way. Turns out his suspect was being put on bail until Danny showed up with the evidence to prove otherwise. It seemed as though today Danny was on a roll unitl he found himslef in the same elevator with Sinclair.
"Messer tell your boss to give up the Monroe case or else i'll do it and there'll be consequences if that happens."
Danny seemed a bit confused when he heart this. He thought, "No way! Lindsay? It's not possible."
Then he asked Sinclair, "What's the Monroe case?" He hoped for an answer that didn't have to do with Lindsay but that wasn't gonna happen.
"You mean to tell me they didn't tell you,"said Sinclair, "CSI Monroe was shot at during a foot pursuit this morning; she's in the hospital right now."
With that Danny realized that's why Flack was yelling at the one guy.
"Oh my godd that bstrd shot Montana and not even Flakc told me,"whispered DAnny to himself.
He immediately went over to the hospital to find Stella there waiting for Linds to come out of surgery and be moved into a recovery room. Stella had the worst luck in the world. DAnny stomped his way to where she was standing and stopped right in front of her.
"Why didn't anyone tell me?!?" Danny yelled quietly.
"Mac and I thought it would be the best choice we were eventually going to tel you but we didn't want you to start blaming yourself." Stella explained.
