Summary: New York-Stella finds out that she is dying from cancer. Miami-The CSIs try to help Stella in her time of need. ~New York~Int. Stella's Apartment-BedroomStella wakes up. She looks at the clock and it reads 2:17 am. She touches her forhead with both of her hands. Stella: Oh, god. Stella goes to the kitchen and gets an advil and then goes back to bed. Int. CSI Crime Lab-MorgueStella and Lindsay are talking to Dr. Driscoll. There is a young boy of about nine years old on the autopsy table. He has burns all over his body and half the skin on his left arm has been ripped off. Lindsay: Did he die from the burns?Peyton: No, although you would think so. He died from blunt force trauma to the back of the head. Whatever he was hit with happened before the fire. Stella: Wait, are you saying that he was still alive after the fire. He was alive and he these burns. Peyton: Whoever killed him thought either they were helping him or wanted to keep him quiet about something.Lindsay: Do we have an ID on him?Peyton: No, not yet. His personal...Stella grabs her head. Lindsay: Stella, are you okay?Stella: Yeah, I'm fine. I just have a bad headache. I'm fine. Stella looks over at Peyton who has a worried look on her face. Stella(Cont'd): I'm fine. Really. Peyton: His personal effects are over there on the table. Lindsay: Thank you.Peyton: I'll page you when I have more information.Int. CSI Crime Lab-Mac's OfficeStella walks into Mac's office.Mac: What's up Stella?Stella: I need to go to the doctor's. I wanted to know if it was okay. I already let Lindsay know.Mac: Yeah, it's fine. Call me when you get back.Stella: I will. Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-Dr. Wilkins' OfficeStella and the doctor are talking. Tears start to fall down Stella's face.Stella: Are you sure?Dr. Wilkins: The CT and MRI both confirm that you have a tumor on your brain stem. Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-Dr. Wilkins Office
Dr. Wilkins: you have what is better known as an anaplastic Oligodendroglioma. It's rare to find it on someone's brain stem, but it does happen.
Stella: Is it treatable?
Dr. Wilkins: I want to remove as much of the tumor as I can as soon as possible. I won't be able to remove the full tumor but through chemotherapy and radiation it is possible to get rid of the rest of the tumor.
Stella: If the chemo and radiation don't work how long will I have to live?
Dr. Wilkins: Stella, I don't want you to worry about that right now.
Stella: How long?!
Dr. Wilkins: Your tumor is located on your brain stem. It's putting pressure on your spinal cord.
Stella: How long?
Dr. Wilkins: 2 to 3 years.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Mac's Office
Stella walks into Mac's office and sits down in the chair across from his desk. Mac can tell that something is wrong. Stella starts to tell him what the doctor told her. By the time Stella is done, she is crying. Mac takes her hand and holds it in his.

Int. CSI Crime Lab-Layout Room
Megyn is going through a case with Calleigh and Ryan.
Megyn: Several other CSIs have been through the case. I want you to actually solve it. Okay?
Ryan: What's the problem?
Megyn: Two key pieces of evidence have been lost. The knife that killed Billy and the gloves worn by whoever killed him.
Ryan: What are we supposed to do?
Megyn: Go through the evidence we do have and go through the suspects to see if they took the knife or the gloves. Page me if you find anything.
Megyn walks out to the hallway where Horatio stops her.
Horatio: You have a phone call.
Megyn: Thanks.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Megyn's Office
Megyn walks into her office and picks up the phone.
Megyn: Hello?
Stella(O.S.): Hey. It's Stella.
Megyn: Hi. I haven't heard from you in a long time.
Stella(O.S.): I need to talk to you.
Megyn: What's up?
Stella: I'm dying.
Megyn: What?!
Stella: I'm dying.
Stella starts to cry.
Megyn: I'm coming to New York.
Stella(O.S.): I...don't want...
Megyn: I'm coming. I'll call you when I get my flight information. I'll talk to you soon.
Stella:(O.S.): Bye.
Megyn hangs up the phone.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Horatio's Office
Megyn walks into room.
Megyn: Horatio, I need to talk to you.
Megyn sits down in a chair by Horatio's desk and tells him everything that is going on.
~Two Days Later~New York~
Int. Stella's Apartment-Kitchen
Megyn is sitting at the kitchen table while Stella makes a pot of coffee. A few minutes later Stella sits down at the table.
Stella: Dr. Wilkins said that I have and anaplastic oligodendroglioma. She said that she wants to remove as much as the tumor has she can and then wants to start me on chemotherapy.
Megyn: When are you have the surgery?
Stella: Friday. How..How am I supposed to tell my kids.
Tears start to fall down Stella's face.
Stella(Cont'd): I don't know how to tell them...to make them understand.
Megyn: I can talk to them you want.
Stella: I don't want to make you.
Megyn: I'm doing this for you. If you want me to talk to then I will.
Stella: Can you talk to Amanda and Michael? I'll talk to Candace and Apryl.
Megyn: Sure.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Meeting Room
Mac is talking to Lindsay, Mac, Detective Flack, and Dr. Hammberback.
Mac: When Stella comes back to work I don't want you to treat her any differently and don't talk to her about the cancer unless she wants to talk to you about.
Danny: How are we supposed to help her if we can't talk to her?
Mac: If she wants to talk about it then she will. Just make her feel comfortable. She needs us right now.
Int. Stella's Apartment-Bedroom
Megyn is talking to Amanda and Michael. Amanda is crying.
Amanda: Is my mom going to die?
Megyn: Right now all we know is that she will need surgery and then chemotherapy.
Michael: I thought you said that she only had a couple of years to live?
Megyn: If the chemo goes alright the tumor could go away or become benign.
Amanda: Why is this happening?
Megyn: I don't know.
~Miami~
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Horatio's Office
Horatio is talking to Eric.
Horatio: I've talked to Megyn. She wants you to go to New York.
Eric: What's the matter? Why is she there?
Horatio: Stella Bonasera, you remember her?
Eric: Yeah.
Horatio: She was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. Megyn wants you to go down there and help out at the crime lab and try to keep Stella comfortable.
Eric: Won't we need help here then?
Horatio: No, I'll divide the work up and each case may only have one CSI working it. It doesn't matter. When another CSI is in trouble it's our job to help them.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Ballistics
Calleigh is going through evidence when Natalia walks in.
Natalia: Did Horatio talk to you?
Calleigh: No, why?
Natalia: Eric is going to New York so he put me on another case.
Calleigh: Okay. That's fine. If you need any help just ask me.
Natalia: Same here.
Natalia walks out of the ballistics lab. Calleigh continues to go through evidence.
Int. Miami-Dade Police Department-Interrogation Room
Eric is talking to a suspect. Yelina is sitting next to him.
Eric: You killed Tina Wilson. We have DNA evidence and fingerprints to prove that you killed her.
Justin: Yeah, maybe I did. So what?
An officer walks in and handcuffs Justin. They walk out of the room.
~Friday~New York~
Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-SICU-Stella's Room
Megyn is sitting beside Stella's bed when Dr. Wilkins walks in.
Dr. Wilkins: She's doing really good.
Amanda walks into the room.
Amanda: Oh, I'm sorry. I'll come back later.
Dr. Wilkins: No, that's alright. Can I talk to you outside?
Megyn: Sure.
Megyn and Dr. Wilkins walk out into the hallway. Amanda sits by her mom's side.
Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-SICU-Hallway
Megyn: What's up?
Dr. Wilkins: I could only remove about a third of the tumor. That means that she will be on chemo longer and the doses will be higher.
Megyn: How long will she be on the chemo?
Dr. Wilkins: At least four months. She'll be able to go to work but I don't want her doing anything that will cause her to much stress. Do her kids have someplace to stay/
Megyn: Yeah, they're going to stay with me as long as they need to.
Dr. Wilkins: I'm going to check on her later. If everything goes alright Stella should be out of the SICU within three days and then she will be in the ICU. She should be out of the hospital within two to three weeks. Then I want her to take at least a month off before going back to work, even if she thinks she's better.
Megyn: Thank you.
Megyn walks back into Stella's room and Dr. Wilkins goes to check on another patient.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Mac's Office
Eric walks into the office. He sits down by Mac's desk.
Mac: Hi.
Eric: Hey. Where's Megyn?
Mac: She's at the hospital with Stella. Do you mind going to help Lindsay in the layout room?
Eric: No.
Mac: Thanks. I'll get you when I hear something.
Int. CSI Crime Lab-Layout Room
Eric walks into the room and he seems very uncomfortable. Lindsay walks up to him.
Lindsay: Hey. You must be Delko. I'm Lindsay.
Eric: What's the case about/
Lindsay: Two teenagers were found dead in the girl's home yesterday. They both died from stab wounds to the stomach. The parents were on a weekend getaway.
Eric: I guess the fun ended early.
Lindsay: They came home and found the two teens in the living room.
Lindsay hands him some photos of the crime scene.
Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-SICU-Stella's Room
Stella is still unconscious.
Megyn: I'll be right back.
Amanda: Okay.
Megyn walks out of the room and Amanda starts to talk to her mom.
Amanda(Cont'd): Mom, you have to get better. We need you.
Amanda starts to cry.
Amanda(Cont'd): I love you mom.
Int. Lenox Hill Hospital-SICU-Hallway
Megyn walks over to a pay phone and calls Mac.
Mac(O.S.): Detective Taylor.
Megyn: Mac, it's Megyn.
Mac: How's Stella?
Megyn: She's doing good. Is Eric there yet?
Mac: Yeah, you want to talk to him?
Megyn: Um..no. Not right now. Can you tell him I want to talk to him later?
Mac: Sure.
Megyn: Thanks. Bye.
She hangs up the phone and walks into the bathroom.
