421: Hostage

Episode recap: When a heist goes wrong and a bank manager is shot dead, gunman ‘Joe’ takes everyone hostage and issues an unusual demand: he won’t release anyone until a CSI comes in to prove he didn’t kill the victim. As the situation becomes more frenzied, Mac battles the pressure as he works to both solve the murder and secretly send information about the suspect back to the team in an effort to identify him – only to discover, when the evidence doesn’t add up, that Joe’s actually a hostage himself. With the original robbers holding his family at gunpoint until he recovers incriminating evidence they left behind, Joe soon has Mac onside ready and willing to help stage a rescue – but he’s not quite telling the whole story…
