Most people use water because they think that dusting will scratch the shiny surface of their vehicles.
So I use a different method. I use a narrow squeegee to clean. It has one edge made of sponge and the other end with sharp rubber edge. See photo below. First mix a liquid soap or cleaner with a bucket with water. Then dip the squeegee's sponge side into the bucket and then wipe the car. Then simply turn the squeegee the other way, i.e., the sharp rubber edge and start pushing down the soap solution down. With each stroke, the surface is dry! No water needed.
